Mohnibhai Desai name is well known in the social field of Sangli. To understand why a person pours his body, mind, and money into this task, one has to know his sorrows in the past. Mrs. Desai was bedridden for many years. For her better health, Mohnibhai took tremendous troubles for a number of years and one day he got information about Jaipur Foot from a jawan in the train. It was as if Mohni Bhai had found a new thing. People without legs can walk by wearing Jaipur feet.
When he understood, he could feel his legs becoming strong. But these feets were available in Jaipur. Who will walk there? After discussing with the fellow rotarians, he found that a hospital in Ghataprabha in Karnataka donates such legs. Karnataka Arogyadham creates the Jaipur foot. After understing that, only Jaipur gets below the ankle part. Mr. Desai went with technicians in Arogyadham. Invited.
This story is from 1997. The price of Jaipur foot, which is available for 600 rupees, is now 5000 to 7000 rupees.
In 1997, with the help of Madan Navandhar, Desai started a camp for disabled people. Arun Dandekar, Jagannath Jadhav, Nirmala Kulkarni assisted him. More than 125 disabled persons came.
It takes a week to make 100 legs. Gradually, as the number of those who wanted legs, the production increased to 150. Navandhar and Desai themselves invested money and got people on their feet. This work was worth lakhs. After seeing the work, people started getting shelter. Donations started pouring in. Those without legs began to get legs. Their world also started moving. Along with Mohnibhai Desai, Uday Patil has shouldered this responsibility.
The team of Chandrasekhar Purandare, Vijay Bajaj, Ramakrishna Chitale, Nanda Zadbuke, Prabha Patil is struggling for this. Credit institutions like Veeracharya, Mahesh, Neminathnagar, Shamshree Trust, as well as donors like Vijayasimharaje Patwardhan stood behind as Raju Shetty, Hasan Mushrif have also got valuable help.

Why do the same people keep coming back even after giving foot once?
After falling, what should be done to repair the given feet is a different question came in front It takes their own technicians to repair this Jaipur foot. B. N. A technician named Shinde used to come to Ghatprabheen every time.
The center conducted a follow-up camp for special repairs in the year 2000.
Vishnu Anna Patil inaugurated it and then the need arose, she of a permanent building. Desai gave two and a half lakh rupees, then People started gathering. Five lakhs was collected and on 31 May 2001, Usha Mohni Handicapped Rehabilitation at Rotary Hall area in Ganeshnagar on a small building of the center was erected even today on the second of every month.

Changing legs:
In the past, people’s legs were lost by accident. But recently 60 percent of feet have to be amputated due to diabetes. Earlier Jaipur feet had paper feet. After 2002 very light weight HDPE legs were made.
The jaipur legs provided by the Centre were used by many disabled people who even now drive trucks, do their own business and live with self-respect.
Usha Mohini was disabled, then the President Pratibhatai Patil Jaipur Foot was provided from the rehabilitation center officials.
What is another Punai like giving legs and arms to the disabled?
The cost of foundation given by the center goes up to 3 thousand. On birthdays, on the anniversary of yours the organization, give legs, arms to the disabled. It is a heavenly pleasing to see them walking on their own feet.
